We are excited to introduce our team.
Waste is anything that is an unwanted substance and is discarded as it isn't required anymore. But all waste isn't useless, in fact almost all waste can be reused and recycled and that's exactly why waste management is important. The separation of waste ensures that recyclable materials are reused when making new products. This helps as it saves resources by using the same material twice and not throwing it away. Not only that, most waste, if not recycled, is harmful for the ecosystem including us humans, for e.g plastic. Plastic is a really harmful waste as exposure to its toxic elements can kill animals, plants and humans. It harms plants when thrown into the soil as plastic can't be decomposed and when animals eat plants they get affected too. Sea life is greatly affected too. Humans are also affected by plastic wastes when all the plastic discarded like other wastes are worn down by heat and other factors forming microplastics that eventually enter our body through what we eat, this causes many of the incurable diseases we have today e.g. cancer, reproductive problems etc. The only way to lessen the amount of microplastics are by recycling plastic waste and ensuring it doesn't end up in our environment. We can do this by effectively managing our own waste at home, in school etc. Waste management can save millions of lives. A quick way to get you started on your waste management journey at home is by making eco-bricks - watch the video below!
